Helloooo. My name is Robert Xu. Most of the time I wear Rubber Shoes, but I have been known to sneak around in a pair of sandals.

I am also a web developer based in the Bay Area.My last few projects have been built with Ruby on Rails and Javascript, though in a previous life, I dabbled in Java. Feel free to drop me a line.

MY WORK

Forklol

Trivia website where users can play and create their own quizzes. Allow for either clicking or typing input in quizzes, and flexible back end design allows for quizzes to switch between the two input types. Users can view metrics on difficulty of each question and difficulty of entire quiz. Single page app with a separate login page. Backbone.js frontend and Rails backend.

Microsoft Word Count re-imagined. Paste a passage of text to view metrics on word length distribution and Ngram structure.

Programmed an internal upgrade utility (in the Cache programming language) which was used by
70 Technical Services Consultants to track upgrade progress on inpatient dashboards.
Guided Rady Children’s Hospital through the upgrade process from Epic version 2012 to 2014.
Optimized flowsheet documentation workflows at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

Used a Content Management System to provide updates to more than 20,000 Duke University employees through the internal connections web portal.
Updated the Office of Information and Technology website used by 7,000 undergraduates to learn about technology resources and troubleshooting techniques.
